You can get one free credit report (but not a free score) from each of the three credit bureaus once per year at annualcreditreport.com. Two alternatives, however, are 1) Go to quizzle.com. This site is owned and operated by Intuit and they are offering a totally free credit report with no strings attached. their hope is that you will then buy an Intuit product, but they don 't require it. 2) Go to one of the "free " sites like Truecredit and get your report and them immediately cancel your membership. You get to keep your credit report if you print it out. 3) Finally, you can get a free score and assessment from Credit Karma but you can 't get an actually credit report. Remember, your credit report is a snap shot in time of your credit history. Next month, it will change, although it typically won 't change very much. So, you may want to check your report more than once a year. |
