Pretty nearly any company will issue one if you put the money up front.

You should probably consider a secured card first. These are not really credit cards since you have to maintain a deposit with the bank issuing the card as a security. But timely payments will be reported to the credit bureaus which should qualify you for an unsecured card with decent terms within a year. One thing though is to make sure whatever secured card you use does in fact report to the credit bureaus, some do not. The purpose is make sure the bureaus are made aware of your responsible payment pattern, that 's how you will rebuild your credit.

If you have bad credit then chances are you won 't get a regular credit card. Probably the only route you can take is to get a secured credit card which means that you have to give the card issuer a cash deposit equal to the credit limit on the card ( which you usually choose and will get back). the baest way to use the card is to not put too much on it every month and then clear the balance when the bill comes in as this will build your credit and you 'll be able to get a better card. Bank of America has a good one.

Get one from your bank. It doesn 't matter what the interest rate is. If you pay off the card every month the interest is zero. Cards from your bank are regulated by the Dept. of Corporations and don 't have nasty business practices like the "Universal Default " clause. You may need a co-signer for your first card but it 's better than getting something that will quickly get you into trouble. "Bad Credit " is a relative term. It sounds like you have very little credit. If you get a store card, be very careful that you don 't abuse it. Good luck.
