Cost of tax payment plan vs. credit card interest: which is higher?
I currently owe about $3,000 in taxes and considering whether to pay it in full or enroll in a payment plan. I also have a credit card balance that is charging 25% interest. Should I enroll in a payment plan for my tax balance and apply more money toward the credit card balance? Thanks.
How will Bernanke's purposed bank rate hike affect credit card interest rates?
I read on msn.com today that Bernanke is planning a purposal to hike rates to keep money from being lended to the consumer, which would drive up loan interest rates. For things such as credit cards affected now by prime factors, what could this potentially mean for credit cards payments. Please only educated, serious answers. Thanks.
How does credit card interest work?
i am 17 and thinking about getting a credit card in order to build my credit. i know a lot of people won& 039 t approve of this, but i am very responsible and i will probably keep it put away at my parent& 039 s house going to college or keep it for emergencies only. i know that i will have to use it periodically to keep it activated and everything, but i don& 039 t quite understand how the interest works. i know it will be a super high percentage since i am young and considered a liability. but, if i make a $50 purchase with a credit card, and i pay the credit card payment on time, will i have to pay $50 for the payment, or will have to pay the $50 plus interest?thanks for answering i am almost 18. i know i have to wait a while before i can get one. and now there is some kind of new law or regulation so i think i need a cosigner, which i can get.
How can I get my credit card interest rates lower without threatening to close my account?

Help, question about credit card interest!?
I received my Feburary statement on Feb,16. The balance on that statement was around $1900 dollors. By the due date on March,14, I only paid $900 to my account. I received my March statement on March,17. The balance was $2300, including $30 interest charge. I didn& 039 d understand how the interest was calculated so I called citi bank. They told me they add up everyday balance from Feb 16 to March 17 and got an average balance of about $2100, the interest was based on that number. I just realized the interest is too much so I paid the $2300 balance by the due date this month April 14 to avoid any other interst charge. But I got my statement for this month today. There is another $30 interest charge on my account. I don& 039 t know why.......I called the customer service but I didn& 039 t follow the lady.... could anyone explain it to me? Thanks
Chase raised my credit card interest?
Okay, I& 039 ve had two Chase credit cards for the past 2 3 years. I& 039 ve never missed a payment and generally pay a little more than the minimum due payment not always and not as much as I know I should . One card is a small gas card while the other is much larger but had a very low interest rate that I was told was fixed.Anyway, today I noticed that my minimum payment due for the month on my larger card went WAY up. After I looked into it more I noticed that my interest rate went from my very low 6% APR, which was the ONLY reason I got the card, to 27.24%. While I can still afford the payment, it doesn& 039 t mean I want to I know some laws changed and I& 039 ve read online about people saying credit card companies rose interest right before the laws changed, but don& 039 t they legally have to let me know?Is there ANY way that I can get them to lower this?

my credit card is maxed out cause i couldnt get out of the lease for my apartement and i didnt want to go to court. so i maxed out my credit card paying for a place i didnt even live in...thats besides the point though the point is....i have a credit card which has a 2300 amount filled and 2500 is max. i pay 79 dollars min a month and 54 goes into interest. if i lower 2300 by alot from extra payments will the interest lower as well? sorry im sure this is an obvious answer im just not sureyeah i have no idea why my interest is so high...i pay my bills on time every month and this is the only card i have its ridiculous

Chase Freedom Credit Card- interest assessed daily, payments restricted to one every five days?
My friend has a Chase credit card. He says that they assess the finance charges based on the APR EVERY DAY instead of once per month. This is the wiggle banks do to advertise a lower APR than you are actually being charged for. Anyway, does it seem like an exploitative practice to assess the fee daily, but only allow you to make one payment every five days within either scheduling or having a payment go through, which can take all weekend or three weekdays ?anon, be an hero.
