Question: I was recently scammed by "pac promos" will they really report me to credit agencies?

(yes, I know it was naive, and not good decision- making on my part) HOWEVER, I signed up for the salon & quot;Pac Promos& quot; membership to be charged 4 consecutive months $20, and receive spa benefits. I signed up 11/ 6/ 09 and they were supposed to start charging me 11/ 15/ 09. They charged me 11/ 08/ 09 and I sent them an email complaining on 11/ 10/ 09. This is within 72 business hours of signing the & quot;contract& quot; so aren& #039;t I protected under California Consumer Protection (cool off law)? They refused to refund me so I cancelled my card, and they are now threatening to send me to collections (3 months later). Does anyone know if they are really capable of sending me to collections? I have contacted Consumer Protection Agency and will be disputing the charge with my bank tomorrow now that I know I am protected. Thanks! |
