Question: Is capital 1 the worst credit card company? if not, who is?

Capital 1 is the biggest blood sucker that I have found. What about you? |

Capitol One is the worst. Even when you pay your bill timely they might sneak in a late percentage charge. When you call to complain the lady can not explain why the charge is there and goes to her supervisor so that after waiting another 2 or 3 minutes they hang up on you, I think that they are a great target for a big class action. |

I think it 's bad. I think you should try Chase or HSBC. At least you get some money back after you spend like $100. |

Discover is pretty ratty. They offer big incentives at low interest rates then tell you you did not get your payment in on time even if you did. This allows them to raise their interest rate. I paid them off and cut that card in a huge number of pieces..... |

The best credit card company is the BANK OF YOU ! You can charge your own interest rate. It gives you financial freedom and you are debt free. |

Capitol One charges some very high, imaginative rates and overdraft/ missed payment charges...I think if you add it up, it comes out to be somewhere around 27%!! AND they charge you a yearly fee to have the card! The best credit card is the one issued by your own bank..have 2...our ATM/ Credit Card and a Standard card...There will be times that you cannot do anything without them...try renting a car with only an ATM...won 't happen. The trick is to not use the cards, or pay them off monthly. IF you pay off monthy, you do not pay any interest charges. |

First Premier Bank, Aspire, Providian (although I think they are out of business). I had a Capital One, closed the account. HBCS Card services hasn 't given me any grief. |

They can all be pretty bad, but Capital One helped me climb ot of a bankruptcy a number of years ago. I have stayed with Cap 1. The absolute worst is Juniper...every gimmick going, tricks, super high rate and finance charges higher than your minimum payment so you always stay in debt. Yes, Providian was so bad, also, but they are not around anymore...they are now Washington Mutual! |

They are bad but Providian is the worst as far as I can tell. |

They have actually been very good to me. They gave me a card after a bankruptcy to help rebuild my credit and i used it and paid on time for a very long time. I once called them and asked them to lower my interest rate and they did. After a few years they then dropped my annual fee and gave me a platinum card with many more benefits. Pay on time and you shouldn 't have any problems. |
