Question: Where is the best department store to apply for a credit card?

I will soon be turning 18 and I want to establish good credit. I will be applying for a student card at my bank, but if they deny me then I will use a department store card to help establish credit. Where is the best store to get one at ?

Department stores usually hve very high interest rates. They are meant for people who shop at that particular store on a regular basis. I would try as many banks as possible before opening a department store credit card.
